Temporary Combined Logo
We have rolled out a temporary logo that you may see in a few places throughout our network of products and services. As we combine our organizations, we’ve implemented several cost-savings changes. However, many of the efficiencies we’ve gained only work with a singular logo. That is why we are using this combined, temporary logo while we work to finalize our future name and brand.
This is a temporary logo. We are still working towards a new, combined name and brand for our new organization.

Debit and ATM Card Changes
Due to the merger, all of our debit and ATM cards will now be merged into one
system. Because of this, all NWCU debit and ATM cards will be reissued.
Beginning March 3rd, all current NWCU-branded debit and ATM cards will become inactive. The card with the combined logo will replace them.
Starting in late January, members with a debit or ATM card will receive a new card. This card will feature our temporary, combined logo (read more about this logo here).
Please note, this new card will not work until March 3, 2025. Please do not attempt to use the card until then.
Additionally, due to our system conversion, you no longer have access to card control in digital banking. We will bring this feature back online with more robust functionality in the fall of 2025. Until then, you can call us to block your card if it is lost or stolen.
Contactless Payments
We are excited to roll out the functionality of contactless payments on debit cards.
Tap to pay offers a secure and fast way to pay. Look for the tap to pay icon.

Tap your card for a secure, contactless payment.
Starting on March 4th, members can come into the branch to re-pin their debit card. Alternatively, you can continue to call in.
Members will also now be auto-enrolled in fraud alert texts if you have a mobile number on file with us. You can opt out of this when you receive a text, or call or visit a branch as well.
Consumer Debit Card
ATM Card
Business Debit Card
These debit and ATM cards now feature our temporary, combined logo. As we combine our organizations, we’ve implemented several cost-savings changes, one of which is combining our debit and ATM cards into one system. However, many of the efficiencies we’ve gained only work with a singular brand. That is why we are using this combined, temporary logo while we work to finalize our future name and brand.
Credit Cards
You can continue to use your credit card you have today. Unlike debit cards, we will only reissue credit cards as they approach expiration dates or they are lost or stolen.
Starting March 3rd, members will no longer be able to take cash advances on their credit cards in digital banking. This includes home equity credit cards. You will still be able to take cash advances by using a PIN at an ATM or by visiting a branch. Other than that, you can continue to use, pay for and track your current credit cards the same way you do today.
We anticipate some additional changes to credit cards coming in the future, with more information to come as we get closer to that date.

Overdraft Changes
Currently, if you have a linked draw account, overdraft transfers occur overnight and cost $3 for every day that any amount of transfers occur. Moving forward, if you have a linked draw account, overdraft transfers will occur in real time and will charge $3 for every time there is a transfer initiated, even if multiple occur on the same day. However, to help limit the amount of fees incurred, we will transfer in $100 increments to cover the transaction.
For example, if you attempt a purchase that is $12 more than your current available balance, we will transfer $100 into your checking account from your linked savings or personal line of credit (PLOC) to cover the transaction. This will incur a transfer fee. The remaining $85 ($88 minus the $3 fee) would cover any additional transactions until that balance is depleted, when an additional transfer—and transfer fee—would occur.
Members can set up as many savings or personal lines of credit (PLOC) as a draw source as they would like. Draws will be taken from the savings or PLOC in the order in which the member asks for them to be. If funds are not available from the first savings/PLOC it will look to the second available one to cover the transaction. We will look to up to 10 accounts to cover the transaction. For any draw that requires more than one savings to cover the transaction, a $6 fee is applied.
Additionally, members are currently able to have overdraft limits available on all checking accounts. Moving forward, only one account will be provided an overdraft limit. For all consumer accounts, there will be a limit of up to $1,250. This will help cover larger items such as mortgage or rent payments when you do not have funds available. The account covered will default to your earliest opened checking account that is currently covered. If you’d like to change this, please notify us with a call or by visiting a branch after March 4th.
This is intended to be a summary only. If you have a checking account with us, you will receive a comprehensive description of our overdraft program sent in an additional mailing. You can discontinue overdraft in its entirety by contacting us at (800) 452-9515 or visiting your local branch.

Member, Account and Routing Numbers
We’re excited to announce that for most of our members, there will be no change to their account or member number. We are also able to connect our routing numbers so that you won’t experience a change there, either. If you are one of the people in the small group who will experience a change, there will be a separate mailing and follow up phone call notifying you of your new information. You can also visit a branch or call us if you’d like to confirm.
For most members, no change is needed for:
- Any Direct Deposit you have set up.
- Your Checks.
- Automated electronic payments.
Digital Banking
We will continue to use our current digital banking website and app. The only action you will have to take is to log back in to your app or digital banking after March 3rd.
There will be additional changes coming to digital banking in the Fall of 2025, separate communication will be sent out about that at a later date.
Additionally, due to our system conversion, you no longer have access to card control in digital banking. We will bring this feature back online with more robust functionality in the fall of 2025. Until then, you can call us to block your card if it is lost or stolen.
Statements
VISA Credit Card and Mortgage Loan statements will not have any changes. For all other accounts, you will experience some minor changes.
- Statements will now feature the combined logo (for more information on this, click here), and there will be some other small changes in accent colors.
- Your detail of previous balance, deposits, dividends, withdrawals, fees and ending balance will be summarized at the top of your statement and at the bottom of each section, but not within each individual product.
- The last four digits of the account number will no longer be shown. There will also be the addition of a two digit code that is tied to the type of account. For example, a prime savings account will show a “(#00)” at the end of the account type name.
- Timing should be similar, but may take an extra day or two to receive paper statements.
- You will maintain access to historical statements through online banking.
Touch Tone Teller
Our touch tone teller platform will be replaced by a new Interactive Voice Response system. The system should function very similar to the previous Touch Tone Teller system. Visit www.nwcu.com/help/touch-tone-teller to learn more.
Check Ordering
On March 3rd, members will see a slight change in the check ordering process. We will be adopting a new platform which will look a little different, but will provide the same service and cost as we’ve previously offered.
As a reminder, you will not need to replace the checks you currently have, they will continue to work as normal.
Order of Checks Processing
Checks generally will be paid in the chronological order they are received, but if multiple checks are received in a single day, they will be processed in check number order.
Changing Ownership
Starting March 3rd, all primary and joint owners will need to approve any adding, removing or changing of an account’s ownership.
Consumer Loan Payments
Effective March 3, 2025, please redirect physical consumer loan payments or deposits to:
TwinStar Credit Union
P.O. Box 718
Olympia, WA 98507
This includes auto, RV and personal loans. This does not include credit cards and mortgages.

How to reset a Quicken or QuickBooks connection to online banking

Change in Terms Notification
In connection with the merger of TwinStar Credit Union (TwinStar) and Northwest Community Credit Union (Northwest Community), many of the deposit accounts and services you had with Northwest Community are transitioning to those provided by TwinStar. The following Change in Terms Notification outlines the material changes in the deposit account and electronic funds transfer (EFT) services. The accounts and services that are not listed below will remain unchanged except for name changes as more fully described here. We encourage you to review and retain this document and the accounts and services agreements of TwinStar for your records.
Membership and Account Agreement. Effective March 3, 2025, the Northwest Community Membership and Account Agreement governing your deposit accounts will be replaced with the TwinStar Membership and Account Agreement. Many of the contract terms for accounts and services will remain without substantive changes. The use of your accounts and services will be governed by the TwinStar Membership and Account Agreement, which can be viewed here.
Overdraft Services Changes. Effective March 3, 2025, TwinStar Overdraft Services will apply to your accounts. The following are the material changes in existing terms and conditions from the Northwest Community Overdraft Services. A disclosure will be mailed separately with further details:
- Overdraft Services will be limited to one account.
- Overdraft transfers from one account to cover another account will occur in $100 increments. This is designed to avoid multiple transfer fees since there will be funds for future items to clear. The transferred amount will not be the overdraft transaction amount specifically.
- The maximum number of overdraft fees and non-sufficient funds (NSF) fees we will charge is 25 times per month, instead of 5 times per day.
- Fees will change as described here.
- Transactions may not be presented in the order which they occurred and the order in which checks or items are received and processed may affect if an overdraft occurs. The Credit Union processes checks and items as follows: (i) checks are generally paid in the chronological order they are received, but if multiple checks are received in a single day, they are processed in check number order (ii) for ACH items, credits are processed first and ACH debits processed second, and (iii) debit card transactions are paid in the chronological order they are received.
Electronic Funds Transfer Services. Effective March 3, 2025, the Northwest Community Electronic Funds Transfers Agreement and Disclosure will be replaced by the TwinStar Electronic Funds Transfer Agreement. The material changes to the terms and conditions governing the electronic funds transfer services are as follows:
- The daily limit for purchase transactions at point of sale (POS) terminals is $7,500.
- Notice to Credit Union For Lost or Stolen Cards or Unauthorized Access and EFT Billing Errors. The new contact information for notifying the Credit Union of a lost or stolen card or unauthorized electronic funds transfer or EFT billing error is: toll-free: (800)258-3115 or write to: TwinStar Credit Union, PO Box 718, Olympia, WA 98507-0718. You may also continue to contact us at (800) 452-9515 for notification as well.
Deposit Accounts Truth in Savings Disclosures. Effective March 3, 2025, the Northwest Community Deposit Account Truth in Savings Disclosures will be replaced by the TwinStar Truth in Savings Disclosures. Effective March 3, 2025, Northwest Community deposit accounts will be converted to a corresponding deposit account of TwinStar as set forth here. The following specific changes are made to the Northwest Community savings, checking and money market accounts:
- Savings Accounts. Your Northwest Community Regular Savings, Youth Savings, Pledged Savings and Tomorrow Savings will have a new name. However, the effect of this change does not result in reduced earnings for you. After these accounts change to the TwinStar equivalent, the minimum to earn dividends on the Prime Share is $100. There is no minimum to earn dividends on the Outfitter Savings, Dollar Dog Savings, or Subsidiary Share. As of the date of this mailing, the APY for these accounts is 0.25%.
- Checking Accounts. Your Northwest Checking, Northwest Secure Checking, and Youth Northwest Checking accounts will no longer earn dividends (currently 0.25% APY if qualifications are met). (Executive Checking, with dividends, remains unchanged.) For checking account conversion details, see Truth In-Savings Disclosure here. For additional checking account options, see table here.
- Money Market Accounts. For Super Investor’s and Executive Money Market Accounts, including IRAs, the Dividend Rate for a particular tier applies to the entire account balance if the account balance is within the balance range for that tier. In addition, your Money Market Accounts will have new tiers. Please see Truth In Savings Disclosure for details here.
Fee Schedule. Effective March 3, 2025, the Fee Schedule applicable to your deposit accounts and services will include certain increased and decreased fees as set forth here. Fees for additional TwinStar services which were not offered by Northwest Community may apply as set forth on the TwinStar Fee Schedule.
